Notes about Sarah's home

This drawing was found in a scrapbook now cared for by Janice, youngest daughter of Jennie O’Brien Obert. The scrapbook was with other items which belonged to her mother Jennie, granddaughter of Sarah. The scrapbook was brought to America with the family in 1852.

The drawing is believed to be either the O’Brien or Devenish home where Sarah and her young family lived before they left Ireland.

The house in this picture looks something like the Dromoland Castle, Newmarket-on-Fergus County Clare which is an “O'Brien” ancestral home and is now a Bed and Breakfast. It is located near Limerick, County Clare in the vicinity of the Shannon Airport. Jan thinks it may be one of our family’s homes.
